Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) in full to ensure you are fully informed before using the ConnectHive website and services (the “Services”) provided by Deedbees CIC (“ConnectHive”, “Deedbees”, “us”, “we” or “our”). These Terms govern your access and use of the Services.

These Terms form a legally binding contract between you and us. By using the Services, you confirm your agreement to be bound by these Terms. If you access or use the Services, or continue accessing or using the Services after being notified of a change to the Terms, you confirm that you have read, understand and agree to be bound by the latest Terms.

Supplemental terms may apply to certain parts of the Services, such as policies for a particular event, programme, activity or promotion, and such supplemental terms will be disclosed to you in separate disclosures or in connection with the applicable Service(s). Supplemental terms are in addition to, and shall be deemed a part of, the Terms for the purposes of the applicable Service(s). Supplemental terms shall prevail over these Terms in the event of a conflict with respect to the applicable Service(s).

You are free to stop using the Services at any time. We also reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate these Terms or any Services with respect to you, or generally cease offering or deny access to the Services or any portion thereof, at any time for any reason. In particular, we may terminate your access to the Services without notice if:

  • We suspect that you are in breach of these Terms; 

  • We deem that you act in a way that does not align with the values ConnectHive; or

  • We deem that you use the Services in a manner that would cause us legal liability, disrupt the Services or disrupt others’ use of the Services. 

 

1. THE SERVICES

The Services primarily comprise of the registration and matching of Mentors and Mentees for giving and getting support as well as the facilitation of support sessions between Mentors and Mentees. The Services also include any events organised by us or materials provided by us which you may take part of as in your capacity as a user. Finally, the Services also include the ConnectHive website (the “Website”) which is accessed at https://connecthive.co.uk

The Services are made available to users for personal, non-commercial use. By accepting these Terms, you acknowledge that your use of the Services does not establish us as a provider or consumer of the support you give or get through the use of the Services.

Users who offer to give support through the use of the Services are referred to as “Mentors”. User who seek to get support through the use of the Services are referred to as “Mentees”. The type of support categories available may vary for time to time, but may for example be: CV writing, job searching, interview preparation, communication and language practice. It should be noted that the support provided by mentors is not legal advice and should be interpreted as support and / or guidance only.

We grant you permission to use the Services as set forth in these Terms, provided that you do not: 

  • Remove any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices from any portion of the Services;

  • Reproduce, modify, prepare derivative works based upon, distribute, license, lease, sell, resell, transfer, publicly display, publicly perform, transmit, stream, broadcast or otherwise exploit the Services except as expressly permitted in writing by us;

  • Decompile, reverse engineer or disassemble the Services except as may be permitted by applicable law; 

  • Link to, mirror or frame any portion of the Services; 

  • Cause or launch any programmes or scripts for the purpose of scraping, indexing, surveying, or otherwise data mining any portion of the Services; or 

  • Unduly burdening or hindering the operation and/or functionality of any aspect of the Services or its related systems or networks.

The Services and all rights therein remain our property. Your use of the Services do not convey or grant you any rights in or related to the Services. Neither do your use of the Services convey or grant you any rights to use or in any manner reference in any manner our company name, logos, product or service names, trademarks or services marks.

Although we do our best to ensure that our Mentors are equipped to provide accurate information and appropriate guidance to our Mentees, we will not be responsible for the accuracy or appropriateness of information and guidance provided by our Mentors. Neither will we be held responsible for the behaviours of either Mentors or Mentees in any interaction between users.

 

2. ACCESS AND USE OF THE SERVICES

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent that you are least 18 years of age, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, or the age of legal majority in the jurisdiction in which you will use the Services (whichever is highest). 

When registering with us, you are required to submit certain personal information to us. By registering, you agree to maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date information on your account, and inform usof any changes to your situation or information. Once registered, you may not let any other person or entity communicate or interact with us (or any of our members / users) under your name. 

You agree to comply with all applicable laws when accessing or using the Services, and you may only access or use the Services for lawful purposes. You may not in your access or use of the Services cause nuisance, annoyance, inconvenience, or property damage, whether to a third party provider or any other party. In certain instances you may be asked to provide proof or identify or other method of identity verification to access or use the Services, and you agree that you may be denied access to or use of the Services if you refuse to provide proof of identity or other method of identity verification.

You agree that we may contact you by telephone, text message or email at any of the contact details provided by you in connection with your use of the Services, including for marketing purposes.

 

3. MENTORS

By registering as a Mentor, you agree:

  • To provide truthful and accurate information to us, both during the registration process and in any other subsequent interaction or communication;

  • That you have the required knowledge to give support in your selected area(s);

  • To provide your Mentee (or Mentees) with accurate information and appropriate guidance; 

  • To not provide, or give of the impression that you are providing, direct advice (legal, financial, medical, or other);

  • To not ask your Mentee (or Mentees) to disclose any personal information;

  • That you are not entitled any payment or reward (financial or non-financial) for providing support and that you will not seek such payment or reward from us or any other user of our Services; 

  • To act respectfully in all communication and interaction with us or any other user of our Services; and

  • To immediately flag to us any issues or concerns that you notice or become aware of which may negatively impact us or any other user of our Services.

 

4. MENTEES

By registering as a Mentee, you agree:

  • To provide truthful and accurate information to us, both during the registration process and in any other subsequent interaction or communication;

  • To not ask your Mentor or any other member to disclose any personal information;

  • That you are receiving free support and that we shall not be held liable for any consequences (negative or not) arising from the support you received as a Mentee;

  • To use your own judgement and be fully responsible for any consequences arising from relying or acting on any information or guidance provided to you by your Mentor or us - your Mentor and we do not hold any responsibilities related to the consequences of this;

  • To act respectfully in all communication and interaction with us or any other user of our Services; and

  • To immediately flag to us any issues or concerns that you notice or become aware of which may negatively impact us or any other user of our Services.

 

5. DISCLAIMERS

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. We disclaim all representations and warranties, express, implied, or statutory, not expressly set out in these terms, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. In addition, we make no representation, warranty, or guarantee regarding the reliability, timeliness, quality, suitability, or availability of the Services or any support provided or received through the use of the Services, or that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free. You agree that the entire risk arising out of your use of the Services, and any support provided or received through the use of the Services, remains solely with you, to the maximum extent permitted under applicable law.

 

6. ARBITRATION

By agreeing to the Terms, you agree that you are required to solve any claim that you may have against us on an individual basis in arbitration, as set forward in this section. This means that you will not bring any class, collective, or representative action against us, and you will not participate in or recover relief under any current or future class, collective, consolidated, or representative action brought against us by someone else.

You agree that any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to: (a) these Terms or the existence, breach, termination, enforcement, interpretation or validity thereof: or (b) your access to or use of the Services at any time, whether before or after the date you agreed to the Terms, will be settled by binding arbitration between you and us, and not in a court of law. 

You waive the right to a trial by jury or to participate as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class action or representative proceeding. Unless both you and we otherwise agree in writing, any arbitration will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. However, you and we each retain the right to bring an individual action in a small claims court and the right to seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation or violation of a party’s copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, patents or other intellectual property rights.

The place of arbitration shall be London at the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). By using the Services you agree that these Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the English laws and shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the High Court in London. 

It should be noted that the interactions between Mentors and Mentees do no constitute a legal contract and is therefore not subject to contract law.

 

7. OTHER PROVISIONS

You may not assign these Terms without our prior written approval. We may assign these Terms without your consent to: 

  • A subsidiary or affiliate; 

  • An acquirer of the Deedbees CIC business or assets; or

  • A successor by merger. 

We may give notice through email, telephone or text message. Such notice shall be deemed to have been given upon the expiration of 12 hours after sending.

Any purported assignment in violation of this section shall be void. No joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you, us, any third party provider or other user of the Services. 

 

8. UPDATES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time in response to changing legal, technical or business developments. When we update our Terms, we will take appropriate measures to inform you. If you use the Services after being notified of a change to the Terms, you confirm that you have read, understand and agree with the relevant Terms.
